"LET'S FIND A GREAT HOME FOR YOU AND YOUR BOAT"
Every boater's dream is to have his boat
moored at his backyard dock. Although still possible
in Naples, this option has become much less affordable
and more difficult to find. The problem continues to
become more acute as new condominium complexes eat up
the few remaining marinas which have in-water and out
of water storage. A good alternative to this is the
"Boat Condominium" which is a huge building with multi-story
racks. Boats are plucked from their storage spaces by
a giant forklift which can reach as high as 5 stories.
A phone call in advance will have your boat in the water
and ready to go. Upon your return, it is washed, dried
and the engines flushed before retiring to it's home.
A much better option may be to purchase
a newer, larger home inland at a much lower cost rather
than to try to purchase an older, smaller home on the
water with dockage. Your boating experience can be enhanced
by the added convenience, economy and time efficiency
afforded by using a boat condo. It keeps the maintenance
and repair bills way down by keeping your boat out of
the sun and weather and out the water with it's corrosion
and barnacles.
You actually purchase the boat space
in the building and you own it as you would a unit with
condominium type ownership with monthly maintenance
fees. Some places have a pool, chickee hut, clubhouse
with lockers, etc.
Your boat condo is deeded to you and
you may rent or sell it whenever you wish.
