The Downing-Frye name has been a fixture
in Naples real estate since the early 1960s. Over the
years, the firm has grown into the largest in the area,
with three offices in Naples, one in Bonita Springs,
three on Marco Island. In 2005, the firm also opened
a new office in Port Charlotte.
Downing-Frye has added 441 agents over
the last two years, and over 700 agents currently work
for the 100 percent commission company, making it the
largest real estate company in Naples.
Despite its size, it feels like a small
family company, Hughes said. "Every month the company
throws a social event for the agents" he said. "We've
had golf tournaments, scavenger hunts, comedy nights,
happy hours, trips to the dog track and numerous other
events. Our social events are open to employees, agents,
family and friends. I learned a long time ago that agents
making money and having fun would probably stay with
the company."
The retention and feeling of family is
no doubt one of the reasons readers of the Naples Daily
News cast enough votes to make Downing-Frye the winner
of the Major Category Award for Real Estate in the Southwest
Florida Choice Awards for the fourth year in a row.
It was also the fourth year in a row the company won
the Champion Award for the Best Real Estate Office.
Downing-Frye Realty is very active in
the community, contributing to Habitat of Humanity and
numerous other organizations.
